Our York Quilters’ Guild “CELEBRATION OF QUILTS 2014” show will be held on Friday, June 20 & 21 at the Old Main Building of the York Expo Center/Fairgrounds.
As in years past, we are holding a Luck of the Draw Auction during those two days. We need volunteer ticket sellers and items donated for this raffle so we can sell tickets to our visitors to win these items which will be chosen on Saturday afternoon. All proceeds will go to supporting our Guild and its many activities.
So, how can YOU help??

AND/OR
2. Please DONATE items that we may use for the raffle.
Ideas include but are not limited to the following:

Celebration of Quilts 2014!
Friday, June 20 & Saturday June 21
We need your help!
Next quilt show meeting will be at 6:00 pm before our regular guild meeting in the church kitchen
Any interested guild member is invited to attend.
Sign-Ups-Linda will be bringing the large tri-fold board with the sign-up sheets for helping during the show.
There are still plenty of spots available: set up on Wednesday & Thursday and show times on Friday and Saturday. If you can’t attend guild this month please give me a call (Linda Carroll at 717.235.2661). I can tell you what is still available. Some of the jobs, like set-up, are physical but many others during the show are not.
We will be grateful for any help you can give.
Decorations-Take a look through your home and see if you have any items that we could use to decorate the show. Tables, small chairs, floral arrangements, antiques, wood ironing boards, dolls, etc. look great around the quilts. Make sure you label everything.
Advertising-Be sure to pick up some post cards this month to advertise the show. Cards can be placed in fabric stores, gift shops, farmers markets, antique shops, garden centers, etc. Please ask the shop owner for permission. Tell them we have a display table at the show and would be happy to display their information. Please bring that info to guild with you or drop it off during set-up hours. Be sure you’re handing out our flyers to all you family and friends. Don’t forget they need raffle tickets, too!
Truck(s)-We desperately need one big truck or two smaller ones to transport pipe & drape. Early Tuesday, June 17, we bring it from Jacobus to the Expo. Immediately after the show we go into tear-
down mode. This process goes jaw-dropping fast. We load up the truck(s) and take the pipe & drape back to Jacobus. And another show is put to bed…….Thanks Creagers for the bed! (their wonderful garage!)
Show registration-Please mail forms to Jill Volz by May 15 or bring to our May guild meeting. Registration forms can be found on our website www.celebrationofquilts.com. Jill’s address is 2685 Trinity Road, Felton, PA 17322
Preview Party-We are having a party Thursday night at 7:00 before the show for guild members and their families. Cindy Hodge (755-9330) has graciously volunteered to organize this gathering. If you can help Cindy with the reception, please give her a call. Cindy can’t attend the May meeting. Don’t be shy about calling…..
Luck of the Draw Auction-Please bring your quilt related donations to our May meeting and give to Lisa Blyth (817-2488).
