President's Message
Hope everyone is enjoying summer so far. Today as I write this the weather is so humid, I just want to dangle my legs in a cool swimming pool. I find it hard to want to sew or quilt with this weather. I’m so glad I finally finished a baby quilt last week, although it was 7 months late ! Our quilt show committee is working extremely hard to get ready, so we want to see all our guild members attend. It’ll be great ! I’ll be selling raffle tickets, so stop by to say hi and make a lucky purchase ! Good luck to all who buy some. Looking forward to seeing you.
Happy sewing !
Cheryl
YQG Trivia
January and February 2005 the guild did a service project for our programs. In January we were divided into groups of 6. We had 6 different demo tables that showed us
the blocks that would be in the ABC quilts that we would put together during the February meeting.
It was a row quilt and each member of the 6 would make 6 block for their row.The sets of blocks, due in February, were assembled and quilted. It was lots of fun!

FABRIC DONATION
Our guild has received a large amount of cotton quilting fabrics from York resident, Renee Mathis. Renee and her husband are moving out of state to live near other family members and she was looking for someone who would use her fabric for “charity quilts”. Pat Matthews and her Wednesday group of quilters will be using the fabrics to make lots of wonderful quilts and useful items for children & adults in hospitals and nursing homes. Thanks, Renee.

Set-Up
We will start hanging the quilts on Wednesday, June 18 at 9:00 am. On Thursday, June 19 the vendors will arrive to set up their booths. We will decorate the show with flowers, antiques and accessories. Depending how it goes we could be done by lunchtime. Please stop by and help.

Tear-Down
We will begin tearing down the show at 5:00 pm on Saturday. It’s amazing that a show that takes a couple of days to setup will only need 2 hours to tear down. All the quilts need to be carefully taken down and carried to the Market St. end of the building. All the pipe & drape, and accessories need to be taken to the front entrance side.
