July 2017

President's Letter

Dear Members,
We are finally into summer weather.  There are still some cool days in between the hot ones so many of us are enjoying vacations by the beach or in the mountains.  By the time the newsletter comes out the second big summer holiday will be over.  Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July holiday.  The summer seems to be moving too fast.  I hope the rest of summer goes nice and slow so we can enjoy the sun, the warmth and the longer daylight hours.
MAQ Seminar at Mt. St. Mary’s is fast approaching.  For those attending have an enjoyable experience and share with us your new skills and accomplishments.  The Row By  Row quilt experience has just started.  The Finishing Stitch in Dover is a participating Row By Row shop.  Check it out.
Make sure to add a little quilting to your summertime activities. I look forward to seeing you at the July meeting.

Ways and Means

We are pleased to report that the Ways & Means Table earned $101.75 at the June Guild Yard Sale.  We thank all of you for your support.  We especially want to thank Nancy Morris for her generous donation of fabric and books as well as her time helping to man the table at the Yard Sale.As we previously announced, we are no longer permitted to have a Raffle Basket at the monthly meetings.  However, we will have a Bazaar Table and will sell donated items at low prices.  So please continue to bring in any items you no longer need or want and which you think another member may find useful.

Thank you again for your support.

YQG Trivia

July 2009 our guest speaker was Seiglinde Smith. She brought her award winning quilt, “Mother Earth and her Children”.

This quilt is beyond fabulous! The embroidery work is unforgettable. Seiglinde is also an author and brought her books to sell.

It was so nice to be able to look at this quilt up close.
